Kevin Twit
I’m Rev. Kevin Twit, 60 years old and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. I moved to Nashville in the late ’80s to work as a recording engineer, then attended Covenant Seminary in the early ’90s. Since 1995, I’ve served as the campus minister with RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) at Belmont University, where I also teach hymnology as an adjunct professor. One of the highlights of this project was reconnecting with people like Matt Pierson, who I played in a band with in the late ’80s, Andy Osenga, whom I knew when he was a Belmont student, and more recent students like Sully Bright and MG Smith. In 2000, I started a project called Indelible Grace, which sets old hymns to new music with my Belmont students, and several folks in the band, including Paul Eckburg, Jeremy Casella, and Andy Osenga have been part of that from the start. This project felt like a sweet reunion and a special experience seeing my former students from nearly 30 years ago mentoring my current students. When I’m not pastoring students, I love collecting antique hymnals and jazz vinyl records. I used to work at a recording studio just down the street from Ocean Way back when Ocean Way was still a church, but this was my first time recording in the studio itself.
