Mark Nicholas

My name is Mark Nicholas and I’m 55 years old. I use my experience to guide and advise songwriters, artists, and small businesses as they navigate the complex waters of the music industry with the goal of healthy success. My relationship with music was love at first kick drum and power chord, I came of age in the 80s, drawn to loud rock bands and quirky pop music. I quickly discovered that helping my cooler musician friends with whatever they needed, whether as a roadie, live engineer, or studio engineer—brought me great joy. I realized I could be a tiny but vital part of making something I loved, and that turned into a professional career spanning over 35 years, working alongside a wide range of artists and songwriters.

One thing I’ve really loved about being part of In Every Generation is the opportunity to build relationships. Relationships are key to a well-lived life, and IEG exists not just to create new music for the church, but also to foster new friendships between people of varying ages. We all need what each other brings to the table, and I’ve definitely made new friends through my work with this team.

Fun fact: I have way too many hobbies. My current favorite is bread making, specifically sourdough, which led me to plant a small plot of wheat in my backyard. Now I’m trying to thresh and winnow the wheat berries to see if I can make my own flour. In short, I’m having fun making a mess and trying something new with only marginal success.
